When is the report control going to support:

Drag and Drop
EIP
Browse Totaling
Locators

I have been asking for these things for at least 9 months. My customer is extremely annoyed with me for recommending this template.

No need to hurry anymore. I've lost that customer after waiting 9 months.

Hi Greg,

I'm sorry to hear you've lost the customer.

Enhancements are continually being done to all of the templates and some of the features you've mentioned are planned as we've previously discussed.

I think it’s a little unfair to complain about features missing that are not exactly provided by either the control or the template, for example the Browse Totalling. Totalling is performed by a standard Clarion browse and this is still the case if it is being used with the ReportControl BrowseEnhancer. If you wish to place the calculated totals somewhere on the ReportControl (eg footer) then that is really your choice and the template and class does provide facilities for you to do this. I do want to make this more automated but to complain that it is missing when it was never originally planned is unfair.

EIP, the template does support this in a limited fashion already and it is planned to be enhanced further but there is nothing stopping you using it now.

As for the "Drag and Drop" and Locators, these are still to be addressed, again, as previously mentioned. Some of the Locators do work presently, and I hope to have all of them working correctly in the next build.

I do agree that some of the development on the ReportControl template has been slow because of other development schedules etc and for this I apologise. Hopefully, the future builds of the template will meet your requirements.

Regards,

Andy

Hi Andy,

I don't believe I am being unfair. I have asked for and been promised these features since May of last year. I see others making complaints about how something works and getting almost immediate response. Granted some of the things I am asking for are more than a one line change, but come on it has been 10 months since you promised some action on these items and I passed your estimates of solutions on to my (now lost) customer and it makes me look bad.

Other templates have gotten some love from you but the report controls still languish and it has cost me a customer and my reputation.

Hi Greg,

I do agree that development on the ReportControl template has fell behind the development of the other templates. To be honest with you, I'm not sure why this has happened but the simple case is it has.

We plan on scheduling some "decent" development time for the ReportControl during April and a new build should be available within the next few weeks.

Regards,

Andy

Hi Andy,

Here we are at the end of April and no update. I guess that no support is forth coming. It has been a year with only promises.

Hi Greg,

As was mentioned in the last Clarion User Group webinar, work is well under way on the next build of the ReportControl wrapper template.

Unfortunately some App dev work has delayed this a little (bad timing - but needed). Please be assured that the next build is coming along nicely and will be out soon - within the next few weeks.

Regards,

Andy

Hi Andy,

I have been hearing a new version will be out in the next few week for more than 6 months now. I see you've spent time on GCalc. I see lot's of other activity. It is extremely difficult to believe any estimate that you give about the report control.
